Elliott Affiliates (EA) is the premier expert in support services consulting for the facilities management industry for more than 30 years. They provide services nationwide to measure the performance of janitorial services, landscaping, parking lot management and other aspects of building maintenance. EA wanted to create on-line, real time systems to further automate their inspection process and provide self service capabilities to their customers. Using a multi-tier, object-oriented approach, Travant designed and developed a disconnected architecture that allows field personnel to retrieve customer information to their mobile workstations and then gather the inspection data. The data is then synchronized with the central server via a web service. The server processes the data and generates the appropriate reports for distribution and handles ad-hoc report requests.
